Fundraising for Breakdancing classes in Riverkids
in Fundraising , by Angeline Riverkids February 5 2008. Tagged sports break-dancing tiny
Tiny Toones is a group in Cambodia that teaches kids and teenagers break dancing. KK and Tango came by the Riverkids Foundation (Cambodia) office 2 weeks back when I was still in Cambodia and we talked about firming up our plans for collaboration. (They were the ones who did the graffiti mural for the Family House as well)
We're now planning to have once a week lessons for the grade schoolers from 4.30 to 6pm every Thursdays and if it's popular with the kids, we'll extend lessons to twice a week, so more can have fun.

A bunch of students from Raffles Junior College (RJC) are up in Phnom Penh for the next couple of weeks to volunteer with Riverkids.
One of the activities they have planned for the kids - especially the boys - are street soccer team try outs for a soccer tournament to be held at a nearby province in early December.
A couple of Cambodia kids with soccer background have also offered to volunteer as regular Assistant Coaches for the team. So training can be ongoing and the boys can learn more about teamwork, endurance and cooperation. And of course just have fun.
