Heli the kindergarten coordinator at Riverkids Alexandra emailed me a few days back and asked the following:

We would actually need some jigsaw puzzles too with 4, 8, 10, 12 and maybe 20 pieces. Do we have any? If you know anyone who wants to contribute something, they could buy them in Singapore since I didn't find them at one of the book stores here.

I went window shopping earlier and spotted a small kids educational store at the shopping mall near my place (Parkway parade). It has puzzles with 2, 4, 8, 12 pieces I think.

Anyone here knows where else we can get such puzzles?

I think I saw some while doing Christmas shopping at Toys'R'us in Vivo City.  Think the other Toys'R'Us would have them too so you can try.

Ming: yup, I'll take a look over the weekend and check prices.

Melita also suggested the following:
"You used to be able to buy really solid wooden puzzles in Phnom Penh at the Japanese training centre that makes toys.  I think the same centre made the wooden nativity scene that is featured on the Riverkids blog entry for 24 December (cos it looks exactly like my nativity that I bought at the training centre many years ago). Maybe easier to ask people to donate $ and then buy the puzzles locally in Cambodia?"

Yup, Dale, Heli and I visited the training centre in October and bought quite a few stuff for the shop and kindergarten. When Heli visited us last week at the Singapore Office, we also suggested that she try the training centre as well. Seems easier to get things custom made there than hunting high and low all over for the puzzles. And then we can put it up on the What to Give site too! Excellent!
